Larisa Semyonovna Latynina born December 27, 1934 in Kherson, Ukrainian SSR) is a Russian-Ukrainian and former Soviet gymnast who is the only female athlete to win nine Olympic gold medals.
She holds 18 total medals, second most won by a competitor in any sport at the Olympics.

An Olympic marathon is a little over 26 miles long. The race starts and finishes in the Olympic Stadium. The rest of it is run through the city streets.
A world-class athlete can complete the marathon in a little over 2 hours. But that wasn’t the case for Stephen Akhwari in 1968.

Hamill was born in Chicago, Illinois to Chalmers and Carol Hamill.
