Amazing Nora Plays Piano In CATcerto

Susan notes: Thanks to cat lover and writer/editor par excellence Diana Tyndale (Piranha Communications) for pointing me to this amazing story and of video of the CATcerto (featured soloist: Nora the Piano Cat). The piece is the project of Lithuanian conductor, composer and artist Mindaugas Piečaitis. The world premiere was performed by the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra in the Klaipėda Concert Hall in Klaipėda (Lithuania) on June 5, 2009. See below for excerpts of an interview with Nora.

One Of The Coolest Music Videos You May Ever See

pink_hearts_sour_video.jpgSusan notes: According to the blurb on YouTube, this music video was shot for Sour's 'Hibi no Neiro' (Tone of Everyday) from their first mini album 'Water Flavor EP'.

The cast was selected from the actual Sour fan base, from many countries around the world. Each person and scene was filmed purely via webcam, which must have been a complex feat as  you will see when you watch the video...

The whole thing is amazing, but my FAVOURITE parts are: the bit with all the pink hearts. I just love it (go figure lol
) and these lyrics:

If we can embrace all the differences
It will shine the sky in rainbow colors
Your heart that gently reflects in the puddle
is your tone, as you pass through the maze of everyday

Tone of Everyday (by Sour)

More Music In Support of Iran: U2 Goes Green

The top musicians in the world seem to have gotten it...

I would like to know the English translation for the script that comes up on the green screen please.

Someone on Twitter has jokingly said: "Get your U2 CDs. Available in the foyer..." Clever lol, but I'm sure not accurate...

Please help me with the real words. E-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or write in the comments below. Thanks :)

United For Neda (Divided We Fall) Amazing Tune, Powerful Message, Disturbing Images

Susan notes: this is a tragic, yet moving rallying cry for people of peace around the world to stand together against violence, in Iran and wherever else in the world it continues to create innocent victims.

I love the music and the lyrics. I am sickened by the violent and bloody images, the likes of which I normally wouldn’t post on AWR.  But the message is so powerful, I felt compelled to make an exception.

From the YouTube description: Mams Taylor produced and wrote United For Neda after he saw video footage of the young demonstrator shot and killed by the Basji during the Iranian crackdown in June. He brought together Irans most elite entertainers, poets, thinkers, actors and singers in one harmonious voice pleading for freedom, featuring three of Irans most iconic singers Dariush, Satar and Morteza. If you believe in human rights for Iran and for the world, download the song and share it with your friends.

SO COOL: if you like the tune, you can download the mp3 for free here.

Warning: contains extremely disturbing images

These are the song lyrics (as transcribed by Stefano at Rooms on Fire blog):

Goodnight Ladies, Ladies Goodnight

A musical dance tribute to all the powerful, free, graceful, soaring, beautiful, determined amazing women everywhere in the world who pursue their dreams in the face of overwhelming odds.

Dance. When the time is right for dancing.

Rest. When the time is right to rest.

Goodnight ladies.
