Katharine Meyer Graham (June 16, 1917 – July 17, 2001) was an American publisher.
She led her family's newspaper, The Washington Post, for more than two decades, overseeing its most famous period, the Watergate coverage that eventually led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Nellie Bly (May 5, 1864 – January 27, 1922) was the pen name of pioneer female journalist Elizabeth Jane Cochran.
She remains notable for two feats: a record-breaking trip around the world in emulation of Jules Verne's character Phileas Fogg, and an exposé in which she faked insanity to study a mental institution from within.
In addition to her writing, she was also an industrialist and charity worker.

Maya Angelou (born Marguerite Ann Johnson on April 4, 1928) is an American autobiographer and poet who has been called "America's most visible black female autobiographer" by scholar Joanne M. Braxton.
She is best known for her series of six autobiographical volumes, which focus on her childhood and early adult experiences.

Erica Jong (née Mann; born March 26, 1942) is an American author and teacher. She is better known for her fiction and poetry than her other works.
A 1963 graduate of Barnard College, and with an M.A. in 18th century English Literature from Columbia University (1965).
Jong is best known for her first novel, Fear of Flying (1973), which created a sensation with its frank treatment of a woman's sexual desires.
