Holiday Sister Pact? Let's Start One!
By JoAnn Corley, management coach.
The holiday season is coming up for Christians around the world. One element of having a successful, less stressful holiday season is to give each other a break - I call it "space and grace."
Clearly there is exponentially more pressure on women than men to plan, manage, and execute all the doings of the season...
With that in mind, let's make a "sister pact" to cut each other some slack.
Let's make a pact to loosen expectations, to support, to carry the keen awareness of this extra pressure on our fellow sisters as we move through our holiday happenings.
Let's make a sister pact to be more patient, kinder, and flexible to family, colleagues, and strangers. Let's reserve judgment and generate joy.
If someone has a "moment of insanity," let's extend grace rather than take offense.
Who is with me? Let's make the sister pact! Share this post, post your thoughts, actively advocate the pact in the office and with family.
And oh yeah, while you’re at it, raise your voice to sisters around the world, just like these singing nuns do in the Broadway hit musical Sister Act.
Make it a sister pact Sister Act in which women of all races, religions and nationalities are welcome!
