Girl Scouts Could Teach BP A Thing Or Two Or More!
Susan notes: in this guest blog post originally published in the Huffington Post , spiritual author, speaker, teacher and AWR friend and fan Dr. Susan Corso (pictured left) suggests oil giant BP might learn some valuable lessons from young girls – and I think she’s probably right! By a stroke of good fortune, I am acquainted with a dedicated Girl Scout leader, known as Mrs. H to her troop.
The budding scriptwriters/animators/editors/voice-over artists/scorers and every other movie role, seven nine-year-olds in her troop, have a new movie debuting on YouTube this week.
It's called The Girl Scout Law Adventure, and it made me think of British Petroleum and the Gulf debacle.
I found The Girl Scout Law on the Girl Scout website just to make sure I had heard it right.
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
respect myself and others,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
Consider the adjectives in its first stanza. Applicable to BP? I don't think so.
Now the verbs in the second half. BP? Not so much.
I really enjoyed The Girl Scout Law Adventure. If you did, tell your friends.
And BP, since little else is working, how's about you invite every Girl Scout you can get your hands on to the Gulf, and see if, by following their example, you could make the Gulf a better place?
And a little girl shall lead them.
