Alexandra David-Neel (Explorer/Anarchist)

louise_eugenie_alexandrine_marie_david_19th_century.jpgAlexandra David-Néel was born Louise Eugénie Alexandrine Marie David in Saint-Mandé on 24 October 1868; she died in Digne-les-Bains, on 8 September 1969 at the age of 100.

David-Neel was a Belgian-French explorer, anarchist, spiritualist, Buddhist and writer, most known for her visit to Lhasa, Tibet, in 1924, when it was forbidden to foreigners. She wrote over 30 books about Eastern religion, philosophy, and her travels.

Graca Machel (Women's Advocate/Activist)

graca-machel-2.jpgGraça Machel, DBE (born Graça Simbine; 17 October 1945) is a Mozambican politician, humanitarian and international advocate for women’s and children’s rights.

She was the third wife and now the widow of former South African president Nelson Mandela, as well as the widow of the late Mozambican president Samora Machel.

She is the only woman in the world to have served as the First Lady of two different nations.

Marion Donovan (Inventor/Entrepreneur)

After World War II, unhappy with the thankless and repetitive task of changing her daughter's cloth diapers, along with the mess the soiled diaper made to the surrounding bedsheets and her daughter's clothing, she came up with a possible solution.
