Susan notes: when I first heard this song about 10 years ago, it thrilled, excited and inspired me. So many of the themes contained within the lyrics - overcoming fears, grabbing freedom, believing in possibility - resonate with the deepest parts of me to this day - maybe that's why it was chosen as a theme for the 2012 Olympics in London.
I also think it's a timely reminder (in whatever year) to do something significant every day - to do as Ghandi suggested and "be the change you want to see in the world."
Susan notes: My heart is touched by the role Pia, my Mom's cat, plays in helping my Mom, who has dementia, continue to lead a joyful life. AND of course I'm also amazed to see how crazy Pia drinks tea from a mug - the paraphrase a tea advert from decades ago: "It's the paws that refreshes.
Susan notes: I won't tell you my favourite numbers, but they are Hayley and Zoei :P Hayley's version makes my spine tingle, and Zoei's fills my heart with joy and laughter.... The rest are almost as wonderful :) Listen for yourself!
My friend May (whose native language is Arabic), has a cat named Bruno, who she has somehow taught to fetch.
Or perhaps Bruno was actually a dog in a previous life and already knew, at some deep level, how to fetch. In any case, this is proof positive that we may have many more skills and talents than what our outward appearance might first suggest.
Each year Big Cat Rescue gets leftover pumpkins from stores after halloween, pumpkins are a great source of enrichment for our cats, as well as a great source of entertainment for the staff and volunteers at Big Cat Rescue!
All the cats love to play, eat and generally demolish the pumpkins, providing them with hours of entertainment, watch as we show you what they get up to when they are given one of their favourite treats!

Susan notes: put one foot in front of the other and do the walk of life.... I love the country feel to this rockin' Dire Straits tune. It's so JOYFUL, it just put a great BIG smile on my face :) Oh yes, the girl can play.... :) <3 <3 <3
