Officials agree to pave 163-year-old horse trail in romote Columbian town, ending three-month ‘crossed legs’ protest led by town’s women.
On June 22, around 300 women went on a three-month and 19-day strike; refusing to have sex with their partners until the government decided to pave the first half of the town’s horse trail.

Wangari Muta Maathai (born April 1, 1940, in Ihithe village, Tetu division, Nyeri District of Kenya; died September 25, 2011), was a Kenyan environmental and political activist, and the first African woman to recieve a Nobel Peace Prize.
She was educated in the United States at Mount St. Scholastica College and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
